    Abstract

    The learning effectiveness of modulo arithmetic introduced in two different ways was studied: the study group started with geometric activities involving a unit circle, the control group went directly to numerical properties of the group of integers modulo 𝑛. Using pre-and post tests we compared student performance and analyzed the influences of various variables on their understanding.
