    Abstract

Across the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in prolonged closures of schools. We have analyzed global, national, state and local data to determine the risks of reopening schools as well as studied the repercussions of schools remaining closed. Studies show that children are experiencing severe educational losses, hunger as well as increased mental health challenges amidst stay at home orders. Preliminary findings from schools reopening across the globe indicate that there is no significant correlation between reopening and increased cases of the COVID-19 virus.
